On December 1, on the last class, Professor Zhao Bing who is good at garden design showed all grade10 students a great deal of information about the garden design.First of all, he showed us a wonderful video about the luxurious gardens. In the video there are a great many verses to describe the beauty of the gardens. Then he told us the meaning of garden. He explained it by using the characteristics of the Chinese ancient word 'Yuan'. He divided this word into four parts in order to demonstrate different meaning of each part. The four parts represent wall, the change of terrain, well, water and branches respectively. During Mr. Zhao's speech, he showed us a lot of details of information and plenty of pictures. But the part which showed the different kinds of Chinese gardens attracted me a lot. Professor Zhao mentioned that there are four different kinds of Chinese gardens. Sometimes they are generally divided into two kinds: the royal garden, represent by Summer Palace in Beijing and Mountain Resort and the private garden, represent by private gardens. I think different types of gardens shows different characteristics but they both show man's creation, wisdom and hard working. These gardens provide people to relax, learn and enjoy. In my eye, all the gardens are magnificent wonders and garden design is an amazing thing which let us understand deeply the value of human's creativity.
